The apple tree (Malus domestica) is a deciduous tree in the rose family best known for its sweet, pomaceous fruit, the apple. It is cultivated worldwide as a fruit tree, and is the most widely grown species in the genus Malus. 

The apple tree was probably the earlest culltivated tree.
Apple is visible in German  paganism, in Greek mythology, in Christian art.

Uses: Apple pie, apple juice,  apple crumble, apple crisp, apple cake, apple dried eaten soaked in water or alkohol, apple butter, apple  eaten with honey, candy apple. 
Health: "in apple day, keeps the doctor away.” 
Eating apples reduce risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and asthma.
